Actually, it was an e-mail: “We’d like to publish your book.” It took a couple of days to sink in. I signed the contract 24 hours later. That night, I opened a bottle of bubbly to share the news with TV Stevie and Y-Chromo. Then I texted X-Chromo who’s away at college. The next day, I told my “peeps”. Then I slowly let other people know, culminating with letting my local RWA chapter know the good news. Once that was done, I announced the sale to world on Facebook.
I am surprised (although I shouldn’t be) at everything now on my plate: revamp the website (this has been a work in progress since I submitted the book); new website name; Facebook author page; once sentence blurbs; back cover blurbs; cover art fact sheets; a bio.
It still doesn’t seem real to me.
